After a summer of petting goats and trout in northern Minnesota, this displaced–New Yorker is en route to the city and ready to commence upon adventures in performance art. Lest there be any doubt as to sharkskin girl's intentions: I’m all about the body. I like it naked; I like it bloody; I like it covered in chocolate and even a little bit dirty. Whilst Tweed might partake of the more intellectual, if you will [and if he will – this is of course open to debate on his part], of artistic endeavors, I prefer the most visceral of engagements. And, as you’ll know if you’ve done your research, just about anything Vito Acconci ever does. Which has historically been naked, bloody, and just a little bit dirty. I also like music, visual art, and experimental theatre, particularly when they partake of any of the above. Upcoming attractions for your bloggy pleasure include: [re]Actor: The First International Conference on Digital Live Art in London in September; the First International Conference on Performance Art Theory in Tijuana in October; and, in December, the Music and Postmodern Cultural Theory conference in Melbourne – which may not at first scream performance art but I suspect will surprise. And even a few performances in between.
